Cradle Mountain should really not be missed as even these great photos do not do it justice. I really did love the place and it has some of the best scenery that Tasmania has to offer. I still loved some of the other out of the way places that we found just as much  mainly because we had it to ourselves for the most part and that is what appeals to us with our four wheel touring.

The beautiful Cradle Mountain and Dove lake below it as well. ( click them for big pics. )

It was then back up through Sheffield to look at all the murals that have put this once dying town back on the map. Go to the Tourist Information office there to get your free map of where they all are and the description behind them. It is a lot of fun this way. We then boarded the boat the next morning. After being the first in line we found they still hold 4x4's back and those with trailers until the end. Next time I will sleep in a bit more! We had the day crossing on the way back so we treated it like a cruise sitting up on the sun deck etc. It was our shortest trip ever but we still saw so much. It was great to be able to start this holiday exploring after only an hours drive to the boat and then to wake up the next morning and be there. Usually it takes us nearly a week just to get to the start of the area we want to explore and then a week to get back at the end of it as we have seen everything close by. Highly

recommend this trip to anyone ;-)

One of the many murals painted around Sheffield. Our boat home!
