It felt like his XJ was under dampened and after driving mine he noticed it also. The OME shocks had not been the same since the Cape York trip which the suspension had been fitted for and now he has changed them for Rancho 9000's like mine to improve this. It was a great morning run and I thank him for it as it turned out to be the highlight of the trip. It was sad that less than a week later I saw on the news that this whole area was on fire and even burned all the way to Ron's backyard by some stupid bastards that had deliberately set many fires in the area and it burned for 20 days  before they brought it under control with water bombing helicopters even being sent over from the States and Canada to help put them out.

Plenty of sandstone on this track.

Found the limits of Ron's XJ when I forgot to allow for the lower lift and small road tyres and a long range tank ( 124 ltrs. or 33 gal. ) when I landed on the tank after the drop off in the photo below and left my mark on it and the first as it had only just been fitted. A skid is now planed for it and the greater clearance of the 30x9.5's he normally off roads on will help.

Ron driving my XJ and me about to dent his new long range tank, ( sorry ).

We stopped at this view overlooking a steep valley and in no time had to head back so Ron could get to work and we would continue on north.
