Next it was to the Devils Marbles which is a collections of huge round boulders that are fantastic to photograph at sunrise and sunset and of course climb the highest ones.

Had to climb it of course
Alice Springs was used as a resupply point before heading to Rainbow Valley and Coober Pedy to buy some opals. A lot of people live under ground here to get away from the heat where it can reach 50°C ( 122°F ) in the summer and below freezing on a winters night, but stay around 22°C ( 72°F ) all year round in the under ground houses and motels etc.

We left the the Road Trains and the tar which we wouldn't see much of again until we got to Wentworth in a weeks time and cut across to William Creek township on the Oodnadatta Track which had a population of two to run the pub and passed a lot of big clay pans along the way. The pub is a good place to drop in and have a chin wag and look at the bras and cards stapled to the walls and ceiling. Of course our business card was added after a donation left in 'Big Betha's bra' to the Flying Doctors which give medical aid to all who live and travel out here by flying around in light aircraft.
