Much refreshed we headed to Katherine Gorge to do a river cruise up the gorge, swim in rock pools and stand under waterfalls to cool off. We did all the washing here and swam in the river with the fresh water crocodiles as well ( it's the salt water crocs that eat you so ask to make sure they're not around! ).

Edith falls was next and we had a great time swimming through an underwater tunnel into a rock hole in one of the upper pools. Took a bit of guts but it was a lot of fun.

From there we went to Litchfield N.P. to swim in all the croc. free water holes under some fantastic water falls. We missed out on some great 4WD tracks by a month due to the flooding and they weren't going to open for anther 4 months or so when the wet season had finished. One night while there we had our camp raided by  a Quoll ( native cat ) and a Bandicoot ( like a small kangaroo ) who were fighting to get our empty dinner tins, very amusing!
